One of the most fascinating experiences using large
format printers is printing on canvases. Imagine how difficult it was in
the past to paint a photorealistic picture onto canvas: It took weeks or
even months and now it is possible to do it in an instant and in an
fantastic quality. You can print photos or paintings, abstract or
realistic art. |

Photography is now independent of
light-sensitive materials and offers great possibilities, each pixel can
be worked on before printing. Only after the photographer or artist has
done all changes and corrections, the picture will be printed and if no
faults happened during the production process, the result will be a
fascinating and brilliant print. Furthermore, it is possible to print
even single items in a cost-effective way, so second orders are always
possible. |

Back of a stretcher:
If the canvas losens slightly, you can restretch it using the cotter
pins. |
 |
|
The frame aside is
mirrored and copied, so no details get lost putting the picture onto
the stretcher.
|
 |
|
As the print usually
is put onto a stretcher, the design of the lateral frame is important.
Here you see a frame which is coloured very slightly, but it looks as if
it was just the colour of the canvas.
Printing on canvas "EPI"
gives very clear and blistering pictures because of the canvas's
structure. |

|
In this case the
coloured frame looks beautiful. Please note, that we have to stretch the
picture around the stretcher to avoid that the frame is visible standing
in front of the hanging print.
